Hello!
If you haven't read my story and are thinking of checking it out, here's a teaser to give you an idea of what it's about... Annwyd Gwir was once a student at Hogwarts but not a good one. In fact, she was sent home in disgrace. However, as Albus Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort rally their forces for the coming war of power, the headmaster decides that even obscure and disreputable talents like Annwyds might be of use in the struggle ahead. Unfortunately, the Dark Lord has reached the same conclusion. When Annwyd accepts a teaching position at Hogwarts, she has no idea that past failures and unruly students will be the least of her worries. Nor does she expect to find herself allied with the professor she once avoided at all costs the intimidating and ill-tempered Potions Master. As circumstances throw them together, Annwyd becomes increasingly fascinated with the enigmatic Professor Snape. But her one friend at Hogwarts, Professor Lupin, is giving her earnest warnings not to trust him . Meanwhile, Severus Snape is finding his role in this particular game challenging in ways he would not have predicted. The shy new instructor *should* be easy enough to manage if only she didnt evoke a part of his past he would rather forget. Snape is well-acquainted with the demands of intrigue and deception, well-practiced at negotiating his way through dangerous mazes. But the interior landscape of buried guilt and desire is terrain he would prefer not to navigate, terrain he would rather avoid. If he had a choice . If you've read and enjoyed Inscribed in Air & Fire, please leave a review! Cheers, ~ S.Ophelia |

A truly beautiful piece of art
|
This is truly a beautiful piece of art. Snape Ophelia is a brilliant writer. This story is filled with subtle, intelligent humor, highly creative and unique original concepts that I can't even begin to imagine how she invented, and lush erotica hot enough to turn my legs into a useless puddle. If the next chapter doesn't come out soon, I may very well keel over with anticipation. My deepest admiration to this exceptional artist.

First off - congrats on completing Part I! Where to begin, where to begin! First off, the title page is posi-lutely GORGEOUS. I love the way Annwyd looks - it's very Pre-Raphaelite. I also like all the Byzantine crosses and Scorpio-zodiac symbols on Snape's side of the image. The Dark Mark looks VERY sinister and freaky, and I like the alchemical symbols adjacent to it - very evocative. On to the fic itself. I like the premise, I love the Glamour-casting art, and the character of Grandfather RAWKS. He's got my vote for Best Supporting Original Character in a HP fic. Every scene that he's in resonates with a special pithiness and warmth. Lots more of him, please! I continue to like your version of Snape mostly because of his absolutely shameless underlying snarkiness - absolutely NOBODY escapes his withering eye, whether it's Annwyd herself, Draco, Lucius, or anyone. But then it's a given for most of us Snape-writers that he has to get all the best lines in any fic in which he appears. And - I said it on DA and I'll say it again, chapter eight goes entirely beyond the realm of "Dom/sub" conventions into raw sexual energy from HELL. I'm not of a submissive bent myself, but regardless of what kink is getting bent in that scene, it's hot enough to make steam spontaneously waft from one's computer screen. (Mr. Guernica liked it too, BTW.) My only suggestion for Part II is - let's see some more history of the art of Glamours. (Perhaps a journey into Grandfather's boyhood via a dream sequence, flashback, or Pensieve?) You've got a rich vein of invention to mine there. I'd love to see some more detail! So - keep on, my pretty! Can't wait to see how Part II ends up! |

After having difficulty logging into the Restricted Section and hungry for something new, I recalled that I had a link to Erised ... And gods, if I am not one happy camper, for this is one fantastic piece of literature. Extremely well done. Very sensual and visual. Thank you for posting this and making it available for those who wish to see a bit more of Severus Snape, in more ways than one.
I perused the entire first part this evening. Ock! Low and behold, it is a cliff hanger. 'Trust me,' he says ... fade out. More please. .:* Minerva *:. |

What I love the most about Ophelia's fanfic is all the time we are welcome to spend in Snape's head, getting to know him, cheering for him, hating for him. Ophelia makes us feel his old pains and their full impact on the Severus we've come to know well with JKR but even more intimately (thankfully) with Ophelia.
Annwyd, the delicious new character, surviving her own turmoils, pocesses the talent of Glamour and like her creator's talent, hers offers a wide realm of interesting possibilities. Possibilities mind you that have not escaped Dark knowledge... Will Snape's heart and mind remain clear enough to conjure trust from all sides and save Glamour from Evil? Could he not be allowed to let his guards down and receive from Life some of her gifts ? Can't wait for Part II ! Owlover |

Who ARE you?
For surely you are kin to one of the Fey Folk themselves to have crafted a tale such as this. My breath caught just reading the descriptions of the scenery. And Glamoury, what a branch of the Arts!!! You have certainly conjured a most potent landscape, and a most convincing and somehow most fitting mate for Severus. You are gifted, and your tale is most lovely. I look most forward to your continuation of this tale. It is my hope that you will be gentle at the last with our tormented Potion Master, but the journey will be most interesting, if what is to come is even half as interesting as what has come thus far. Highest praise for your gift with words. |

I truly enjoyed every word in your story. It has so much details to give us all the impressions of every caracter. I always do wish to have in a Snape-fic that aspect of him: power, the need to control and be very calculating. And your story has it all. I am soo anxious to read part II especially after reading chapter 9 leaving me imagining what if Annwyd would have screamed out : " The mark" .
Chapeau! to a very very great story and a very incredibly written one too. |

Review: Inscribed in Air & Fire by SnapeOphelia PART ON
|
Snape Ophelia i promised you on the SSS message board to review your novel when i'd finished it. So here's my review.
Never had i read a fanfic before with an OC. After reading so many SS/HG ships i wanted something refreshing. And boy was this novel something indeed. The moment i started reading Chapter I it was like reading in my own private diary. Maybe you don't know it but Annwyd is very much like myself. So it was strange at first to read something so close to me but it was a fine ride. It felt really good. I knew perfectly how she would react and feel in certain circumstances. I think you've portrayed Annwyd pretty good. You have let us, the reader, get to know Annwyd very well, by your vividly description. Excellent character development. Perfectly done. I hope you will write more about the history of Glamour Casting. And the grandfather of Annwyd is written by such warmth, quietude and love. Please write more about him, maybe by flashbacks so you can add something of the history of Glamour Casting. Too bad the title page is currently down. But luckily i saved it in my documents and it's my background picture now . Very beautiful. Your novel is best to be compared to a song of the 'Faerie Bards'. I could not only visualise it like watching a painting to its finest details but also feel the angst, burning, tension and sensualism of the characters. It's very refreshing to read a novel written by Annwyd's point of view and Severus's point of view. It's very interesting to watch him thinking, knowing what goes on in his mind. And most important, at least in my opinion, Snape is in character with his inscrutable demeanor in your novel. We don't know anything about his past (yet) and what driven him to join Voldemort and become a Death Eater. But i think you've filled the gap in his secretly past by going back to his student days and give a twist in your own thoughts of what might had happend with great insight. And yes, i agree that Snape might have felt not appreciated by his talents and he found someone who did appreciated his aptitude for Potions. All he want after all is recognition. The flashbacks was something i really liked in your novel. The lemon part in your story was an explosion of sensualism. I can't describe how i felt when Severus got lecherously over Annwyd. He was an excellent Dom. Of course i was preparing myself for the lemon part and listened to Enigma's Mea Culpa as background music. I can tell you it was sheer erotica. I couldn't help feeling lustful by the heat and violence between Annwyd and Severus. I do hope Part II contains more dom/sub. I think Annwyd is not only a nervous fidgety girl but she is a strong personage with a powerful mind, capable of many things. And she matches Severus. Any woman matching Severus has to have a strong personality and intellect. Annwyd fits it perfectly. Are you perhaps thinking of a future to be a writer or are you a student in literature or letters? Because your vocabulary is profoundly and your grammar is flawless. In the final analysis, this is a objet d'art. An outstanding story line with passionate interactions. Thanks for sharing this with us. ++DevonSeverus++ |

Fabulous story! | ||
|
I am usually not such a big fan of fanfics featuring OCs, but this one just blew me away and made me a believer! Annwyd is vividly drawn and three-dimensional, likeable yet hardly perfect, and a great match for our Severus. Speaking of which, you've really nailed his characterization and walked that fine line between making him completely unredeemable and unlikeable and making him this overly sensitive tortured poor soul.
Love the glamour casting interwoven into this as well, and the threat of Voldemort. Oh, and the love scene was H-O-T!! I really can't wait until the story is complete! I hope there will be an update soon! Pleeeeease??? |

Re: Inscribed in Air & Fire ~ A Snape-obsessed Fanfic

You've done it - you've created an original character in the best sense of the word: a woman with her own personal inner world, her own fears, confused desires, warmth, strength and sense of worth. Annwyd is so very endearing because she's so human (not to diss other species), as are her interactions with our long-time HP favourites, including dearest Remus, tight-lipped Minerva and our snarky, brooding and ever-watchful potions master. Grandfather is a stroke of brilliance - bringing us closer to Annwyd's soul and bringing soul and spirit to her classes and even to some of her less willing classroom participants...
You've painted so clearly and sympathetically her return to Hogwarts and its effects on her, the backstory of her own particular magical craft, the shades of grey in the controversy of Dark Arts and glamour, and the backdrop of the ongoing events in the wizarding world, that I hold my breath with hers, holding up for her her cloaks of solace and respite while hoping she'll move past needing them...and force our beloved resident Slytherin sex god to abandon some of his defences too... And, speaking of the Head of Slytherin...thank you. *blissful smile* The dialogue you've created is so very pithy, so very in character, so very ... deliciously wicked and intelligent... it's worthy of this master of words, a man of intelligence, disdain, distance, elegance, solitude, denial, masks, wit and passion. Beautiful. I laugh so hard reading their dialogue, in an abundance of glee and anticipation, as well as in appreciation for the two unique individuals struggling through their acquaintance... Ah yes, and have I mentioned Snape's conscience? Very good job developing the man, and his mark. Beautiful. He is one of JK's most complex characters, and you've bravely not stripped him of his layers (other than in a few enjoyable moments *coughchaptereightcough*), but rather chosen to expose the man in his own internal and external struggles, both those of immense intensity and meaning, and those of pettier and more symptomatic concerns... All in all, Snape Ophelia, you're telling a masterful story that keeps drawing me in... I'm rivetted. I'm afraid that I've been spoiled by the quality you've produced, but I'm glad for it, and looking forward to reading more of your writing, both Severus-related and other... You've got a perceptive and poetic head on your shoulders. Even if your B is in a V. *smirk, tease, nudge, nudge* ~ Rumours |

Chapters 10 - 13.
Again Snape Ophelia an eminent story that keeps me reading until the very last word. Your writing style is poetical, intelligent and visual. I'm glad your OC Annwyd has her imperfections (e.g. lack of magic, except Glamour Casting of course) and that's what makes her loveable and riveting to me. She is definitely the opposite of a Mary Sue (blessed thee). In chapter 13 you wrote: "In that shimmering net of energy, she could suddenly sense a barrier, a walled-off spot that was dark and disconnected from the flow. There should be something therea pattern, a hum of vibration, a hue of lightbut there was nothing, only emptiness. " If my assumption is true then i think this might be important for the upcoming chapters. Maybe Annwyd will eventually break through the barrier or realises what caused the empty void....You did left me with curiosity! I often catch myself for going back to chapter eight as you might know why. I do hope you'll soon write a delectable lemon scene. I'm craving for just one caress to leave me (yet again) impressed. I enjoy into reading the dialogues with Lucius and Severus. Very discerning written and the cynical attitude of Snape is very in character. You've stayed true to the characters and all i can say is continue writing like you're doing now. I'm eagerly awaiting the following chapter D. |

I am dead tired - just having stayed up until past 4:00 in the morning. I could not stop reading the story!
I have thought of writing a fanfic similar in plot - but I know that I could never do better than what you have done. I hope you post the next chapter soon. Wonderful, wonderful job. Every female who has a Snape obsession should make your story required reading. Thanks, Marina ![]() |

I've just finished chapter 13. I couldn't put it down - I loved it. I've read quite a few HP fanfics but this is the best I've read so far. The way you've got inside the characters is wonderful, expecially Snape. And as for the sex scenes - what can I say? Red hot! Annwyd's character is very realistic and sympathetic. But when will we get some more chapters? What happens at the party? What's Annwyd's dress like? Does she make it up with Lupin? Does she get her memory back? I can't wait to read the next chapters. I keep looking to see if any more have been posted, to no avail.
